Privacy Policy
Last updated October 31, 2026 · Dove's Library is operated by Standard Learning Group, Inc.
What we collect, why, who helps us handle it, and what we will never do with it. Dove's Library is built for students, and student data deserves more care than the industry usually gives it.
1. Who we are
Dove's Library is run by Standard Learning Group, Inc.. This policy covers all of it: doveslibrary.com, the AP notes, AP practice exams and score calculators, Dove's Library SAT, Dove, our AI study partner, sign-in, and our emails.
2. The short version
- You can read every AP note without an account. Then we only collect basic, anonymous usage data.
- With an account, we keep what you tell us and what you do while studying, so we can save your progress and help you study.
- We never sell your data, share it with advertisers or data brokers, or show you ads.
- You can ask us to see, fix, or delete your data anytime.
3. What you give us
- Your account: your email address, and a password (stored only in scrambled, hashed form, never readable by us). If you sign in with Google, Google shares your name, email address, and profile photo with us.
- Account setup and Settings: your name; whether you are a student, parent, teacher, or tutor; your school and its city; your graduation year (or, for teachers, roughly how many students you teach); which exams you are preparing for, your AP courses, and your test dates; past and goal scores; how many nights a week you plan to study; how you heard about us; and whether you want update emails.
- Dove: the messages you send, any text you highlight and attach, and the text of the page you are reading, which is sent along so Dove can answer about it.
- Financial aid applications: your name, school, grade, what you are preparing for, and your written answers about your situation and goals. Please share only what you are comfortable with.
- Contact messages: your name, email, topic, and message, plus your school and role if you write about schools.
- Payments: Stripe collects your card details directly. We receive only what we need to manage your plan: which plan you bought, its status and dates, and a Stripe customer ID.
4. What we collect while you study
- Practice: the questions you answer, what you picked, whether it was right, how long you spent, and the practice tests, practice exams, and Question Rush sessions you take, with their scores.
- Your progress: predicted scores and skill levels we calculate from your practice, your saved questions and mistakes, streaks, and the AP pages you open, mark as read, or bookmark.
- Dove: each page's chat with Dove, saved so you can come back to it, and how many messages you send each day (for the daily limit).
- Cram sheet downloads: which cram sheet you downloaded and when, with a download code. Each copy is stamped with your name, email, and that code (on the page and inside the file) so a shared copy can be traced back to the account it came from.
- Without an account, your AP reading progress, bookmarks, and the courses you add to My courses are kept only in your own browser. If you sign in later, they are saved to your account.
5. What we collect automatically
We run our own analytics to learn which pages help students and what breaks. For each visit we record:
- The pages you view, the buttons and links you click, how far you scroll, how long a page is open, searches on the site, and downloads.
- Where you came from (the referring site and any campaign tags in the link).
- Your browser language, screen width, light or dark mode, time zone, device type, browser, and operating system.
- Your approximate location (country, region, and city), worked out by our host from your IP address. We do not store your IP address in our analytics.
- How fast pages load, and errors that happen in the page.
This is tied to a random ID in a cookie, and to your account if you are signed in. To stop spam on the contact form, we keep a scrambled, salted version of your IP address with your message, never the address itself.
The website (not the SAT app or sign-in) also uses Google Analytics to measure visits. Google receives the same kind of usage information and handles it under its own privacy policy. We use it only to understand how the site is used, not for advertising.
6. Cookies and browser storage
We use a few cookies and browser storage items, all of them ours or Google Analytics'. None are advertising cookies.
- Staying signed in: your sign-in session, kept in browser storage.
- Preferences: light or dark mode (dl_theme), whether the library menu and Dove are open (dl_sidebar, dl_dove), text size, and which avatar you see as a guest (dl_avatar).
- Analytics: a random visitor ID (dl_vid) and a per-tab session ID, plus Google Analytics cookies on the website.
- Saved work: a guest's reading progress, bookmarks, and picked courses, your plan (to show Free or Pro without a delay), and drafts of forms you haven't sent yet.
You can clear these in your browser settings at any time. If you block them, the site still works, but it won't remember your preferences and you may need to sign in again.
7. How we use it
- To run Dove's Library: your account, your plan, saving your progress, and showing your scores and analytics.
- To help you study: predicting scores, suggesting what to practice, and letting Dove answer about what you are reading.
- To email you: account emails (confirming your email, resetting your password, receipts and plan changes, financial aid decisions), and updates only if you opted in. You can turn updates off in Settings.
- To answer contact messages and decide financial aid applications.
- To improve Dove's Library, fix bugs, and keep it secure, including stopping abuse and spam.
We do not sell your personal information, share it for targeted advertising, or use it to build advertising profiles.
8. Who helps us
We use a small number of providers to run Dove's Library. They handle data only to provide their service to us:
- Supabase: our database, accounts, and sign-in.
- Vercel: hosts the website and our analytics collector.
- Stripe: payments and billing.
- OpenAI: powers Dove. Your Dove messages and the page text sent with them go to OpenAI to write the reply. Under OpenAI's terms for business use, this data is not used to train its models.
- Resend: sends our emails.
- Google: Sign in with Google, Google Analytics on the website, and Google Drive, which hosts the course book PDFs.
A small Dove's Library team can see account data to run the service, answer support requests, and review financial aid applications.
We may also share information if the law requires it, to protect someone's safety, or as part of a merger or sale of the company. If that happens, this policy keeps applying to your data.
9. How long we keep it
We keep your account data for as long as your account exists, so your progress is there when you come back. If you delete your account, we delete its personal data within 30 days, except what we must keep for legal or accounting reasons (like payment records). Copies in backups disappear as the backups expire.
You can clear a page's Dove chat anytime with New chat. Contact messages and financial aid applications are kept while we need them, and we delete them on request. Analytics are kept to compare trends over time.
10. Your choices and rights
Write to us at usedoveslibrary@gmail.com to:
- Get a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
- Correct anything that's wrong (you can also change most of it yourself in Settings).
- Delete your account and its data.
- Ask any question about how we handle your data.
You can turn off update emails in Settings, clear Dove chats yourself, and clear cookies and browser storage. We will answer within 30 days and won't treat you differently for using these rights. Depending on where you live (for example California, or the EU or UK), you may have more rights under local law, and we honor them.
11. Children and teens
Accounts are for people 13 and older. Students under 13 can read the free AP notes without an account. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we learn that we have, we delete it.
If you are a parent, guardian, or school and want a student's information removed, write to us at usedoveslibrary@gmail.com and we will remove it. We won't ask for a reason.
12. Security
Your data is encrypted in transit, passwords are stored hashed, database access is locked down so each account can reach only its own data, and the admin panel requires two-factor authentication. No system is perfectly secure, so if something ever goes wrong in a way that affects you, we will tell you.
13. Where your data is stored
Dove's Library is run from the United States, and your data is stored and processed there by us and our providers. If you use it from somewhere else, your data moves to the United States.
14. Changes to this policy
If we change this policy in a way that matters, we will update it here, change the date at the top, and tell account holders by email or in the app before the change takes effect.
