About These Notes
These are the notes I used to score high on the AP World History exam. I’ve cleaned them up and made them easier to read with the help of Scholarly Mind.

My Comments on AP World History
For many students, AP World History will be their first major history AP. That being said, AP World History requires a lot of memorization, whether that be memorizing dates, locations, events, etc. That is why I highly discourage cramming, as the amount of information needed for the exam is overwhelming. But with that being said, these notes should have everything you need to know to get a high score in the exam. However, you don't need to memorize everything to pass the exam. If you focused on understanding big ideas, you'll be fine.
AP World History Is extremely long as it tries to teach you world history that happens over many years. In AP World History, you will also be introduced to essays called the LEQ and DBQ. These essays are essential for a high grade in the exam. Unfortunately, these notes do not offer advice on LEQ or DBQ. Make sure to listen to your teacher and practice writing techniques to prepare for these essays. My biggest recommendation would be to understand each time period, as there would be multiple different things you have to keep track of. Knowing what happens in each time period will help you visualize all the different events happening around the world. This is one of the classes that I highly discourage cramming. You will do great in the exam if you understand the time periods and big ideas, but you'll need to have mastery understanding to push you to that 5 (if you're going for that).
I've compiled all of the necessary information after reading the textbooks and actually sitting down for the exam. These notes will help students who may be discouraged by big textbooks or are just looking for good study resources.
We will be posting progress checks on our @scholarlywings TikTok as you progress through these notes through the school year, so stay tuned!
